During its recent Annual Meeting in Alicante, Spain, the Industrial Design Forum 5 (ID5) – a group composed of the patent offices of Japan, the U.S., the E.U., Korea, and China – announced the establishment of a new ID5 website. The group will use the website to disseminate reports concerning the research it conducts on industrial design and industrial design protection, as well as inform users of ID5 activities.
During the meeting, the JPO also announced its participation in “DesignView,” an information hub that allows users worldwide to retrieve the registered design information of 54 participating IP offices. In accordance with the JPO’s participation, users will be able to use DesignView to retrieve information on registered designs in Japan.
